Characteristics
Polimal 1094 AWTP-1 is an orthophthalic acid-based resin, medium-elastic, pre-accelerated, with low styrene emission. It features a colored curing indicator that confirms the addition of hardener by a color change. It is recommended for the production of glass fiber-reinforced polyester laminates up to 5 mm wall thickness.
Polimal 1094 AWTP-1 is certified: Lloyd’s Register MATS/2782/1
Processing Conditions
The resin should be processed at temperatures above 15 °C. Before use, the resin must be thoroughly mixed with the hardener. The laminate surface should not contain excess resin. If the interval between laminations exceeds 24 hours, the surface must be sanded before applying the next layer.
Suitable curing conditions are an ambient temperature above 18 °C and low humidity. The resin has a relatively short and stable gel time. The mixing ratio is approx. 1 to 2% Luperox K-1 per 100 g Polimal.
Storage
The resin must be stored in tightly closed original containers in dry, well-ventilated storage areas suitable for flammable materials, at temperatures below 25 °C.
